About Professor Sturtz
Parker Sturtz is a professor at the American College of the Building Arts and currently serves as acting head of Wood department, teaching freshman and sophomore cohorts. A valedictorian graduate of ACBA, and Historic Steward under the National Park Service’s Historic Preservation Training Center.
Before returning to ACBA as faculty, Parker worked locally as a shop foreman for a preservation and restoration company, managing all in-house architectural millwork, furniture, and cabinetry within Charleston’s historic structures. He is the founder of Sturtz Fine Furnishings, a Charleston-area custom cabinetry and furniture company, and is a licensed specialty contractor.
His instruction blends traditional methods with modern tools, preparing students to become thoughtful, skilled, and stewards of the built environment.
